Thinking of the family. Ron was a neighbour across the hall at Dellacourt before he moved to Alkira. We enjoyed lovely chats and he enjoyed visits from 6 year old Isabella , my great great niece. Rest now Ron, a true gentleman with a wonderful sense of humour.

Mr. Ahern was a wonderful conversationalist, possessed of a long memory and was an accurate and precise judge of character, His reminiscences of CBC Albury were a joy to listen to. Nothing human was foreign to him.

He also was a compassionate and generous man, cautious of political ideology and quick to see and elaborate on specious thought.

The Araucaria bidwillii off Affleck Street will be the witness of this kind gentleman’s existence for several centuries.
