    Dicko,
I just don’t know what to say, I’ve been at a loss for words for days. We go back to Pentridge days, you were the best boss I’ve ever had and I was so grateful to make the transition to PPP with you by my side. We had a lot of laughs over the 14 years we worked together and although I haven’t seen you in some time my heart is broken. All my love and best wishes to Di and all your family.

    Will miss you mate,
    Shaggy

    Dicko,
    I am truly heartbroken.
You were the first officer I served with in the units, and from the moment you greeted me with your smile and (somewhat ahem) jokes we were set in our friendship. You took me under your wing; you guided me when I was in desperate need for guidance and you offered me advice I still hold dear.

I’ll never forget the 12 years we shared at PPP, from the ‘Bear Cave’ to the units to me coming in late at Reception. You held my first born shortly after he arrived in this world, and you were there for so many other important milestones in my own life. The laughs we shared were second to none.

You were the father I never had, and though we’d lost touch, I’m shattered by your early departing. You’ll be terribly missed by all who crossed your path, but they’ll all be enriched for knowing you – I know I became a better person.

My best wishes to Di and family. We never met, but he always used to fill me in on you, always caring deeply about his family.

    Former Officer at PPP.

Such a terrible loss of such an awesome mentor and terrific bloke.

To Dicko’s family. I feel for your loss. I didn’t know much about his personal life but what I can tell you that his guidance and mentorship I received whilst working with him was second to none. The respect I have and will carry with me for him will always remind me of this very special man. He certainly knew how too pull you back into line and put your head back on straight.

Dicko Mate, Gone too soon. May you rest in peace and may your legacy live on in the peoples lives you have touched and forever changed.

    Des Kent. 🙂

I heard your voice in the wind today
and I turned to see your face
The warmth of the wind caressed me
as I stood silently in place
I felt your touch in the sun today
as the warmth filled the sky
I closed my eyes for your embrace
    and my spirit soared high
I saw your eyes in the window pane
as I watched the falling rain
it seemed as each raindrop fell
    it quietly said your name
I held you close in my heart today
    It made me feel complete
You may have died….but you are not gone
You will always be a part of me
As long as the sun shines…..
    The wind blows….
    The rain falls….
You will live on inside of me forever
For that is all my heart knows

****My heart and deepest sympathies go out to all family and friends at this sad time and I hope these words will give some small comfort to you all.
Although I could bring myself to physically attend it was wonderful to be able to video link.
Sending love and hugs to all. xxxx

Dicko, you will be so very missed by so many. I can’t help but think of all the chats we had – first in PSM2 and later in your hidey hole at St Paul’s, right through to when you got your “big corner office with a view”. You were one of the good ones, so willing to share your knowledge, to listen and to understand that even the strong ones need an attentive ear sometimes.

Thoughts are with your family and loved ones who must be missing you so dearly.

    RIP.

    Love Kim x
