The choice is yours
There can sometimes be confusion about funeral costs and it can be difficult to compare prices between different services. An appropriately conducted funeral may cost anything between $7,370 and $10,000. The cost of each funeral will be determined by your family’s wishes.
As a guide, a service in a Lester & Son Chapel conducted by our celebrant, including an entry level coffin, mortuary care, all documentation, a Registered Death Certificate and cremation fees will cost $7,370. Optional flowers, press notices and other disbursements are charged at cost. Extra fees will apply for after hours transfers, production and printing of service sheets or video tributes and after service catering.
Funerals are very personal things. The best way to accurately assess costs is in a face-to-face interview with an experienced Funeral Director so that all the options can be explained and understood. We can demonstrate what is involved and clearly explain your choices.
What things influence cost?
Some of the things that determine cost are:
• Whether the funeral involves a cremation or a burial
• The choice of coffin – construction, materials and the extent of workmanship
• The type and size of floral arrangements
• The length, style and number of death and funeral notices placed in newspapers
• Charges made by celebrants and the clergy
• The extent of catering for post-funeral gatherings
• The level of Funeral Director service offered
Remember – a funeral is a combination of many services – each with an influence on cost.
