Sympathy to Marj and Family on your loss . Lou was a trusted friend to many people from all walks of life your journey has been amazing. We shared the Political newcomers beginning at Spring Street and I watched his move to Canberra all the while his love of his Electorate evident he never forgot his roots. I remember my late wife Carole and I visiting him in the Albury Hospital after his fight with a chain saw and yes he was still smiling . Stay strong and the many happy memories will ease your pain like your days with “The Blue Ribbon Birds”.1976 he was so proud of you always Marj.
    Fondest regards ,
    Hon Phillip Gude.
    RIP dear friend

I first met Lou when we were at Albury High together. He was captain of the Senior debating team and I was captain of the Junior debating team.!!!! Some twenty years later we made contact when we moved to Wodonga. Lou immediately helped us settle in. He became and remained a wonderful Mentor and someone that I turned to frequently for help and advice. He was especially helpful during my time on Wodonga Council. In all my dealings with Lou, I found him to be honest, warm and a true friend. His ability to reach all sections of the community with humility and a desire to make things better was in my experience unique. That Wodonga is a much enriched community because of his work and compassion for everyone is a very rich legacy. I am especially thankful for the work Lou did to enable the railway line to be moved from the centre of the City.He alone was responsible for locking in the federal Govt .I shall always remember Lou as a wonderful friend. We send our sincere sympathies to Marj and the family. Graham H Crapp.
