Passed away peacefully at Southern Cross Care, aged 90 years. Loving wife of John (dec). Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Margaret, Deborah & Jason, Suzanne & Russell, Vicky & Graeme and Phillipa & Tim. Beloved grandmother (Nan), great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother to all her beautiful grandchildren.

    My deepest condolences to the extended Bates family. Never have I seen a women so loved by her children. It is a testament to her caring nature. Joan will be missed by all the staff and residents at SCC. Rest in Peace Mrs Bates.

      Thank you Rebecca & everyone at SCC for all the love kindness caring understanding and excellent care & friendship you all gave to our Mum & Nan. Especially when we were not able to visit for months at a time….We miss Mum so much.
