A funeral service for the late Mr Peter Edwards will take place on Thursday 17th June 2021 at 11.00 am at the Corryong Youth Club Hall, cnr Donaldson St and Strzelecki Way Corryong, followed by a private cremation. Due to strict and changing covid-19 restrictions, the family will only be able to invite 75 people to attend the service and apologize that it is not possible to accommodate more of the community to come and celebrate Pete’s life. Should restrictions change, these will be listed on the Lester & Son website as announcements or restrictions are made/lifted. The family thanks the community for their understanding, love and support at this very difficult time.

    Of Wodonga, (formerly of Corryong) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a short and devastating illness, aged 66 years. Adored partner and soulmate of Marlene. Loving father of Jai, Corey, Cody, Kaine, Abbey and their partners. Step-father to Ben, Larna and Mia. “Poppy-Pete” to Charlotte, Alice, Isabel, William and Dylan.

    Although life took us in different directions, Peter, my cousin, was the only other ‘Edwards’ boy of our generation and I always thought of him as the balance in our family tree. My father Charles always loved going back to Corryong and Tintaldra when he could , which he called “God’s own country”, and it was wonderful to go with him and Mum and reconnect with Peter and Marlene later in life. Thanks to Abbey, Marlene and Peter’s friends for your account of Peter’s life, and to my other cousin Brian Grace for your memories.

    Technology has allowed me to attend Peter’s funeral live today in spirit from afar in WA.
    A much admired cousin and awesome human being. He had a passion for life, living it big and loving all those around him to the fullest.
