Dear Bill & Family, deeply saddened upon hearing news of Jan’s death. Memories take me back many years and add a ray of hope to the sadness of now. The work done by both of you for Mercy, including Marianella, cannot be forgotten. It was so great to see you both at Easter. Sorry I can’t be with you on Tuesday – am in The Vatican attending an International Conference. Thoughts and prayers are with you. John Frauenfelder

    Dear Bill,
My prayers & thoughts are with you, Carolyn, Greg & Margaret.
I’m in Dublin at the moment doing a Mercy pilgrimage. Jan’s death marks a significant moment in the life of Marianella – she laid a wonderful foundation and the Mercy family are grateful to the two of you for the contribution you both made to Mercy health and aged care.
I can only imagine the pain and loneliness you must be experiencing at this time. I’ll call you when I return to Australia in mid October. I’m pleased I saw Jan at Clare’s funeral – Clare would have given her a great welcome!
    Lots of love,
    Marie

Dear Bill & family….So very sorry that we are unable to attend Jan’s funeral on Tuesday.
This morning I am quietly and respectfully remembering Jan and her spirit of generosity and courage, and of course
her infectious humour and marvellous laugh, and the joy she brought to everyone.
I so loved my long chats on the phone with Jan and the all too brief times spent with you both during your visits to Newcastle.
Much love to you all…. God bless…
