I lived with Alan and his parents, Maurie and Marj, for several months as a Rotary Exchange Student in Albury in 1968-69. I have fond memories of the Chick family’s care and friendship, and especially of the circle of friends Alan introduced me to and the escapades we used to get up to over the summer holidays, some best not detailed here. Over the many years since then I enjoyed occasional contact with Alan and Maurie, which was always enjoyable. I was saddened by Maurie’s passing in 2015 and am very sorry to hear of Alan’s death, far too soon thereafter. All best wishes to Vicki and children and to all the rest of Alan’s family and friends.
I have his blessing of a circle dot on my palm, and the memory of only 5 chips only on his plate. This was a man who’s centre of his heart was his family always boasting pride, respect and tradition for them. He was generous with his love, wealth and community. Alan was not one to waste his words but never ever missed the opportunity for a little tounge and cheek. What an honour it was Mr Alan Chick, you have gone far to soon but your legacy has been created a long time before now. Love to all, who you loved. Xo
I’m very sorry to hear that the world has lost Alan Chick. When we were in high school, Alan was at the centre of our group of friends. He always said he wanted to be ‘King of the World’. After we went our separate ways, to university and our careers, we lost touch. But I know that he created a family and a life where he was king. Good luck to him. Thanks for all the fun memories, Alan. Best wishes to the family.
To Victoria and family my deepest simphaty sorry for your loss Mario
My thoughts are with you and your family, Vicki. He was a true friend and a good person. We had some wonderful times and I cherish the memories. Rest easy, Sam, and I’ll watch for a new star in the night sky.
