    Gillett – Daryl James
    My darling husband Daryl.
Life’s greatest blessing for me has been to love you, and be loved by you, for almost 30 years. We were best friends. We laughed together and cried together. We had everything we could possibly want in life. All I ever wanted was you, and I know you stayed with me as long as you possibly could. My love and thoughts will always be with you, until we meet again.
    Your loving wife Carmel.

    My condolences to Carmel.
I have many happy memories of my association with Daryl over many years at Xavier whilst we managed the Motor Vehicle Fleet together.
Some lunches and football matches helped cement the relationship.
Go Cats but watch out my Dogs are right behind you.
Many happy memories of that time.
    Vale Daryl.

Darryl – you were the best addition to our family and will be truly missed. Your words of wisdom and encouragement were heartfelt. Often we ageeed to disagree especially over my last boss who decided to put dinosaurs on his golf course – you reminding me he sabotaged the pro-am 🏌

Watching you and my sister Carmel enjoy a happy and loving marriage was truly inspiring – true soulmates that waited half a lifetime to meet each other and then enjoyed so many journeys and trips together! You two have both been an inspiration of what a couple truly in love looks like.

Thanks so much for sharing with me over the past theee plus years In Melbourne my education on AFL football 🏈 and my newfound passion of the Geelong cats and members only section at the big game!

To my sister Carmel – be brave and strong, Daryl would not want to see you upset but living momentarily remembering your happy times together.

    Love Nat

Carmel, we did not ever meet but I feel I know you reasonably well the way Daryl spoke about you when we played golf together or had the occasional meal. He was so proud of your studies and who you are and was always full of information about your latest project.

I enjoyed Daryl’s company although it was infrequent, particularly over the last few years. The last time I saw him was in Warringal Private Hospital and I was pleasantly surprised by his appearance and well being. As such the news of last week was very much a shock.

He was very much the gentleman and I never heard a harsh word said about him. He got a lot out of life and was great to have along with us on some of our golf trips.

Please accept my sincerest sympathy. We will all remember Daryl fondly and miss him.
