Family and friends of the late Joan Fairbridge are invited to a graveside interment at the Howlong Cemetery, Ashford Road, Howlong on Friday 2nd August 2019 commencing at 2pm.
Following the interment a celebration will be held at the Howlong Golf Club, 186 Golf Club Drive, Howlong.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests sending a contribution to
medecins sans frontieres (MSF) in Joan’s memory.

Passed away peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff at Dellacourt Lutheran Nursing Home. Reunited with her loving and devoted husband Neil in her 99th year. Loved and missed by David and Jude; John; and their children.

We never met, but we chatted most mornings on the phone. Joan was a lovely lady and I enjoyed our conversations. Au Revoir Joan.

Many members of Alliance Française Albury Wodonga were saddened to learn of Joan’s death. She had a long connection with our Alliance as a student, member and valued supporter.
She was always keen to speak French and often helped other AFAW members practise their language skills. Even well into her nineties Joan sometimes attended our Café Bavard and was able to hold a good conversation in French.
The Committee of Alliance Française Albury Wodonga, on behalf of its members, extends condolences to her family and friends and salute Joan as a committed Francophile.

I first met Mrs Fairbridge over 25 years ago as the President of the AW Alliance Francaise ,where she would attend our conversation class and participate in our social gatherings like Bastille Day . I was privileged enough , few years later, to be her occasional taxi driver .She was a Lady of great intellect with an outstanding memory and great language skills .
