Mum. There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am. You were a beautiful, gentle, humble, unassuming, caring and classy lady. I didn’t inherit any of these things. But we learn by example and what a great example you set. For myself, my siblings, grandkids, great-grandkids, our friends, and pretty much anyone who knew you, you are the best example of a true Christian woman. So job well done little bird. I hope he gives you the best seat in the house. You deserve it.

Gran, it has been a privilege to know you even for these past short 12 years. You can know ones character by those they have around them. Your character shows and lives on in each of your family members. Although vastly different in personality each share the commitment, loyalty, independence, and love that you taught them. The fact that you have been with us here will not be forgotten. Also, I will not forget losing to you at tennis when you were nearly 80! May your stories live on and your soul enjoy the peace that you lived for.

Gran, or as a few of us first came to affectionately know you… “Mrs J” 🙂

What a privilege it has been for me to have had you as a significant person in my life, and for a significant portion of my life; you have been a total blessing to me. You have been a rock to so many, steadfast and caring. You will be missed… I will miss you. We’ve shared quite a few cuppa teas over that time and now you get to share many more with your beloved Frank 🙂

    God’s blessing follows you…
    Love always Gran… davo

Gwen, you are truly the kindest, warmest and most caring person I have known and I feel privileged to have shared a part of my life with . Thank you for welcoming my family into your home and spoiling them with treats they still speak of today. It was always a pleasure doing the odd jobs here and there. Until my hands got soft …..as you reminded me. I will miss the footy chats.
To the Jeffery family please know my thoughts are with you.

Mum. Our little bird has flown, and left us laughing and crying, and so deeply, deeply grateful for the mother we had. Above all you taught by example, the value of faith, that brings sanity in trials, endurance in the storms, hope in the hopeless, that dying to pride is the secret to peace. You taught me it’s good to love a person, even when you don’t love what they do. You opened your heart and home to so many over your time, and it was so beautiful seeing that gentle heart looking for soft places for lacking hearts, in your last days delirium. Thank you for being there always for my husbands, children, grandchildren, and my friends…. No matter how “interesting” others found them.
I cannot thank Kyz in particular, enough, for being the assurance since Dad went, that Mum was okay, and in recent years both Michele and Kyz, laying down your lives to care for our beautiful mum; Tanya constantly providing and giving them a break, and Ken for meeting her spiritual needs… when the rest of us couldn’t. Mum’s example of selflessness lived on. A mother of the most excellent quality we had. You are all God’s now, will miss a mothers love Xx

    Mum
How lucky we were to have you as our Mum. We were such a spoilt family to always have you waiting at home for us with cakes on the table, a mum who never missed our school and sporting events, who sewed and knitted our clothes and made sure our meals were on time. You could’ve been anything, but you chose to be our Mum.

I never learnt how to ‘count to ten Gwen!’ but from you I learnt the importance of sticking power, of telling the truth, of education, working hard and caring for others. You accepted everyone we brought home – the good, the mad and the bad. They made you giggle. You taught us that everyone is worthy of love and forgiveness and that no-one is better than anyone else. We never had to be the best, we just had to do our best. You were always a pillar of strength to me.

My favourite memories will always be of the 7 of us, you and Dad, the kids, the in-laws, the out-laws and the ‘ring-ins’ on long, hot summer days out the weir, you rounding us up and organising everyone like the school teacher you had been. I will always appreciate how, in our youth, our Christmas Day was the only day each year just for us.

I already miss you Mum. I know you were ready to go, but thanks for staying so long.
