“One half of a pair”

All my life it’s been three but now there’s just two.

Kath, I don’t understand why this happened to you.

Your life was so full of beautiful things – shoes, music  and magnolias,

…and of course the rings.

Then there’s your family, your beautiful grandkids and friends.

You will be so missed.  This was not how it was to end.

Love Dais and Max

Dear Malcolm, Jules, Mas and children,
Our hearts are so heavy with sadness. Kathy truly made you feel like family from the moment you met her. Her hospitality to Dan way back in 1984-85, has expanded to getting to know each of you. Dan has told me so many stories from his time living in Australia and treasures that their friendship endured all these years. His Australia “Sister” he liked to call Kathy. We so enjoyed celebrating Ken and Tan’s birthdays in Virginia and meeting you Jules, and Mas and Max, we enjoyed the times you came to Charlotte to visit with Lizzy. Malcolm, we had such fun on our NC travels to the Biltmore House, and Pinehurst and pottery hunting, and celebrating your “big” birthday one of those visits! All because Kathy invited Dan into her home.
Kathy will be missed. Remembering fondly all the wonderful times together. We wish you peace in the difficult days ahead.
    Our love,
    Katherine, Dan and James Barrier

Words cannot express my sadness of the passing of my dearest friend for over 50 years. I am going to miss her terribly especially our weekly long phone calls, where she always managed to put a smile on my face.
Unfortunately I am unable to attend Kathy’s service but she will be in my thoughts. My thoughts also go out to Malcolm, Carrie, Brett and sisters Mas, Julie and families and all her dearest friends.
    Rest In Peace dear Kathy.
    Love
    Keren

To Dear Malcolm, Carrie, Adam, Violet & Henry
We will miss our get togethers with Kath which we always enjoyed. Kath was warm and friendly and has been taken far too soon. She will be missed, however she will always be with us, in our hearts, and in our memories.

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day.
    Unheard but always near,
Still loved, still missed and dear.
