In July 2014, the past staff connected with The Australian newspaper organised a reunion to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the publication.
We were all so glad, Ken made the considerable effort to attend the Reunion and everyone enjoyed especially his storytelling as only he can.
We only heard the news yesterday, 7th December 2015, and many of us are so sad we could not pay our last respects.
Ken influenced many young people, for the better, in his role as Production Manager as a mentor and friend to his staff.
We are all deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Ken’s passing, may he rest in piece.

Well said Tony. Yes I was disappointed to learn only now. Seeing him at the reunion was such a highlight for me. He was man of great substance who in his own unique style supported & guided so many.

There are so many things to miss about this fabulous mentor and horse wrangler.
    He taught me so much….
Which red wine to match to your meats, how to oil a cast iron pan after cooking to preserve its surface and most importantly, not to let being a “girl” in a “mans world of newspapers” get in the way of pursuing a career in the media.
He could be tough task master, but had a sincere heart of gold. He loved his production team and I’ll be forever grateful for his shared “Webbisms” and shared wisdom.

Somebody said to me “he could make you laugh, scream, cry, mad and happy all in one sitting!’ too true.
    RIP Ken. A great fellow.

Was so sad to hear of Ken’s passing. I last visited him in February 2015. My third visit in the last 3 years . When I had a problem at work and went to see if he could help. He would just say O God Here Come’s Trouble! It was always in the voice of a friend. and he was. I will miss him. Tina
