    As mates go Taff was one out of the box. I have been around the block but Taff would always be there to watch my six, no questions asked he was always there. gorffwys mewn heddwch butty.Gareth (Taff 2)

    Our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to Dear Niccola, Megan and Morgan for the tragic loss of our dear friend Taffy.
    We will both miss him terribly, as a great and loyal friend (and colleague).
    Love and Best Wishes,
    Max and Sandra Richardson

    Please accept the following poem from Max as a tribute to Taff:

    Slowly Beat the Drums
    (Elegy for Mark)

    Drums are silenced;
    And with muffled beat
    The marchers slow their pace.

    No more the cheerful voice to urge us on,
    Or jibes to stir the heart
    And help us win.

    Enthusiastic, boisterous and firm,
    Positively using Life
    And strongly holding Faith,
    Your spirit filled us all.

    But now, you take your rest,
    Albeit far too soon.

    Adieu, dear Friend;
    You must stay fast
    Within our minds and hearts.

    Earn Mallee

    To Nicola, Megan and Morgan, my utmost respect and sympathy to you as you say goodbye to your Husband and Father. Taffy had the biggest heart of anyone I have ever come across, friend to so many, loved by so many. I know of no other person so welcoming of everyone into his life, no matter who they were, if you needed a friend – Taffy was the man. I struggle to understand that I won’t ever get another hug from you, and even though I know you are gone you will stay with me not only as memory but you’ll live on in my heart. Going to miss you my friend, love always.

    Sincere sympathies to the Williams family for your loss. I knew Taffy at Kapooka in the 80s and later at Bonegilla in the 90s. How could anyone so fit and friendly leave us so soon?

    I was greatly saddened to hear of Taffys passing. A mate from early Army days at Kapooka, then a course mate in the first co-ed Subject One for Corporal course at Kapooka, Taffy could pummel you as a PTI then pick you up afterwards in a bear hug. Whilst I didn’t see much of him in recent years I always knew how he was doing via his Aussie “parents” Sandra and Max. Travel safely my friend.
