Peter and Libby, Tim and Phil, Geoff and Rosemary and families….
We are so very very saddened at John’s passing. We have been dear friends for almost fifty-five years.
In all those years we have loved and respected John as a man of very great integrity both personally and professionally.
His passing leaves a deep absence in our lives. He was so courageous throughout his life in so very many ways and especially so in the last big battle .
We wish all his family our deepest sympathy.
With love from Bruce and Anne; Sue and Phil; Malcolm and Christina and Neil and Christine (Dunkley)

John was a much-respected chartered accountant in Albury from 1959 until he retired in 1987. He joined Fred Johnson’s practice as a clerk in 1954 but studied under him and became his partner on qualifying in 1959. Later John was a partner in Johnson, Coughlan & Kay, and from 1974 in Coopers & Lybrand following a merger. Like Fred Johnson he saw the job as much more than preparing tax returns and official forms, and, among other things, helped clients develop businesses or access housing loans through new building societies. He also encouraged primary producers to pursue long-term planning. In business and elsewhere he was ever the gentleman. My deepest sympathy to the Coughlan family.
