Family and friends of the late Mr Steven Dows are informed that the Celebration of his life will take place at The Lester & Son Chapel, 49 Thomas Mitchell Drive, Wodonga on Monday 29th August 2016 commencing at 2.30pm. The cortege will leave for the Yackandandah Lawn Cemetery after the service.

Late last week I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Steven Dows through a mutual friend.
I did not know Steve very well having corresponded with him infrequently and via email and phone for some months, only having met him in person once when he visited my house on a work related matter.
On that occasion I was impressed at his genuine warmth, his pragmatic mastery of the subject and his infectious drive to succeed in his technically challenging business venture. Despite having to talk business Steve made time however to tell of the importance of and love for his family and inquire after mine. It is harrowing to think about it in this way and it will be no consolation at this time of shock but I have no doubt that in some way his groundbreaking engineering work will be part of his legacy.
